Intended audience
According to the two main use cases of semAuth - static web site generation and ontology engineering - we have two main groups of intended audience.
Typical addressees of the semantic part are domain experts as members of a knowledge management or semantic modelling project. They typically are academics or analytically trained researchers who already use mindmap software for everyday knowledge management These persons get a tagging language at hand which allows for extracting sophisticated semantics form simple tree structured representations.
Typical adressees of the publishing part are ordinary end users who find mindmaps useful in order to publish simply structured html documents and web sites.
Outlook: There is a third group of users which may benefit most of the semantic authoring methodology. At many schools in germany freemind is part of the standard installation. Mindmapping has become a basic and broadly used writing and personal knowledge management technique. The tool semAuth might open a simple access path towards semantic knowledge modelling for ordinary scholars at high school. The basic idea is to recognize crafting an ontology as a first class method of structuring and modelling terminological learning content.
